Picture Book

My flesh quivers
When grainy paper stirs together 'tween thumb and fingers
And the smell of musty serif
Delights
The childheart in my mind
And I forget
For as long as the spine is split
And the weight
Of another world
Of another time
Is poised between my hands
And unburdens my mind
